It's late May already, though the weather often thinks it's early April, showers and all. But the flowers up here are lasting a long time (forsythia just stopped blooming), so I can't say it's all for naught.

I'm on my 4th and last week of OB here at Munson. I'm enjoying it a lot! I like being able to talk with the patients and spend time... that was one drawback to doing both office and inpatient in Grayling.... of course, I realize that's what OB/GYN involves. This has been a month for interesting and precipitous deliveries. I've gotten in on quite a few. Stories to come...

I've stopped paying attention to the world outside. I work 7a-7p and for most of it I can't see the sun. Fie on the Republicans for trying to end filibustering (they've used it recently as well). But aside from the 30 seconds of NPR I hear before hitting my snooze button, I haven't read the news. Just concentrating on work and sleep, for the most part.

The month has also been exciting for a few reasons. I had a birthday-- 27 years old! And yes, I'm going to keep celebrating them and will not let myself get to the point of "feeling old." I'm my age and that's perfect. The next day my cat, Xap, went missing because of the stupid weather stripping I installed incorrectly on the front door. That set off a three-day frantic search, because she's 14 and hasn't ever really been outside, and I've had her for more than half my lifetime. She's back, none the worse for wear.
Aaron has moved into my apartment; he'll be up in Harbor Springs for the summer working with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, which is awesome. And he'll be living with me for long weekends, which I'm looking forward to. The apartment is messy again, but really it's a lot my mess too (he has 1/6 the amount of stuff I do). And I'll soon have a couch, so that I can have people watch movies/ have somewhere to sleep.

Just watched Calle 54, which all Cuban jazz lovers should see.

Time for bed, the bottle of beer is almost done. Oops, did I say (write) that out loud??
