I just surfed to CNN.com and the lead story is a photo of Bush with the title overhead "Bush: better human intelligence needed." Well, duh. But it's nice that the current administration is finally admitting that the president's ape-like brain isn't serving as well as it could.

Anyway. I'm enjoying my newest rotation: Internal Medicine at Cheboygan hospital. It's supposed to be primarily in the outpatient setting, but my doctor happens to be working most in the hospital so I am getting a lot of experience on the floor. I get to do admitting History and Physicals, some of which I dictated last week. Sometimes I start the Admit Orders (and the doc fills in what I've missed). I'm starting to build up enough experience seeing CHF, afib, pneumonia, etc, that I can suggest treatment plans based on what I've seen done so far.

I'm also cooking for myself again (that Christmas heavy holiday food was getting to me! salad ho!) and trying to exercise after work. Yay me. I probably use up a few calories shivering in my cabin, too... with the thermostat turned up to 80, the house temp is around 68 degrees. Yes yes, bundle up, I know.

My newest Amazon.com find: Madeline Peyroux. She's got a smokey voice, a style akin to Billie Holliday; her songs include jazz, blues, country, and even those of Edith Piaf... nostalgic in a great way.

Also, in an email I just received, a way to buy beautiful photos and benefit an orphanage in Bangladesh... Matt Heineman's page states "Think Globally, Act Locally, Commit Individually" and offers views of the Pacific Northwest, Europe, and the Greece summer games. Consider visiting this page and sharing it with friends.... Can you think of a better way to decorate your home/office while benefitting those who need help??
