Once again, workin' in the KCC... Yet another person said today "gee, it must be great working here; you get to study." Sure, it's an okay job, but I'm just a tad tired of not having tuesday nights free.

Good news, last friday I passed Anatomy and anatomy lab (I might have even honored, but I'm not holding my breath). Today I passed physiology and histology (well, I'm not sure about the actual histology test today, but I definitely passed the class and I'm not going back!!!) All I have left is Genetics on thursday. Yay!

I love finals week-- not only do I have the "normal" number of exams (only 5 in one week, pshaw) but I don't have to go to class; all day to do whatever I want to do!!! So I have studied, but I've also gotten to see Carrie and Molly twice, seen a bunch of atlantis people, go to lunch with Carrie's family and see the Bozym family at its best, hang out at Beaners, buy fun clothes, seen Josh and Em, tried mead... Yep, it's been fun.

My plans next week: shadow a doc here in Lansing; then drive up to the UP and shadow two more docs-- one of which is in a rural town. Then sometime we're having christmas in wheaton, il, and then 27th-2nd troy and I are going to visit chris, dena, lorenzo, and the yet-to-be-born boy. I'm seriously going to need another break after this one!

Hi all!
So ... hm. It's now December. WHERE did the past two months go?? Well, many suns have risen and set, the leaves turned colors and fell, and today I walked home in the snow for the first time this year.

Thoughts about that-- I found myself actually having fun walking home-- it wasn't too cold, the snow wasn't deep, and there was a gorgeous sunset starting around 5pm. Give me a few months of this and I probably will be singing a different tune. But today was full of possibilities-- WINTER!!!

Let's see, what can I say about the past two months? BUSY!!! I won't count the classes or exams I've taken (but I've passed them all!) I've studied and goofed off (a whole lot of each!) I listened to presenters about acupuncture and nutrition and doctor/Latino pt interactions in TX (and the evils of the phrase "cultural competency"). I actually got to try the acupuncture-- I think she used 17 needles in me? I solved a big email-controversy between hot-headed students with the scribe service (logic and calm triumphs again). I walked through Baker Woodlot and when two paths diverged in the wood I took the one less traveled by. I learned a bit about being a boss (and how not to be) I shadowed a couple of pediatricians and plan to go to the UP to shadow a family doc over break. And I rearranged my room three times-- don't ask. Ooh, and I got my OMM table so I can practice "osteopathic manipulative medicine"... y'know, like... O.M.M... And of course Thanksgiving break (boy was I thankful for the break!!!) But the absolute coolest thing--
I have one week of class and six final exams left, and I will have survived my first semester of med school! (*yaaaaaaaaaaaay* picture Kermit the Frog saying that and waving his arms)

Ok, now I must study a bit. I told you I was good at goofing off. Oh, and sorry for the delay in posting... I was waiting at first for the picture of me in the plane. Still don't have it, but I'll post it when I do.
